By accessing or using BlackBook at MyBlackBook.app (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
BlackBook is a private personal ledger for tracking romantic relationships, dating activity, and intimate experiences. The Service is a tool for personal reflection and self-awareness — not a dating app, social network, or recommendation engine.
You must be at least 18 years old to use BlackBook. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.
You own all content you create within BlackBook — partners, interactions, notes, and any other user-generated data. We do not claim any ownership or license over your content beyond what is necessary to operate the Service (i.e., storing and displaying it back to you).
You are solely responsible for the content you log. BlackBook is a private tool; the data you enter is visible only to you (and optionally to a linked partner, if you choose to enable sharing).
You agree not to:
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. Privacy is central to our architecture — please review it carefully.
We strive to keep BlackBook available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by downtime.
BlackBook is currently free to use. We may introduce paid features or subscription tiers in the future. If we do, we will provide advance notice and any existing free functionality at the time of your registration will remain accessible under a free tier.
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Account deletion requests have a 7-day grace period, during which you can cancel. After 7 days, your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BlackBook and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, arising out of your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $50, whichever is greater).
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BlackBook, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with updated terms, you may delete your account.
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
For questions about these terms, contact us at legal@myblackbook.app.
